Summer Vacation 2009

This year's summer camping trip started, as always, with the Elkins family reunion. Some 50+ members of the family gather at Carp Lake each July 4th. Then it was on to Cheyboygan State Park for a week. The trip was cut a little short due to bugs eating the kids, 3 year old tiredness and tantrums, and impending rain. But most of the time the weather was good and we did some cool stuff. Hiking was cut short due to hoards of demonic mosquitoes. They were record setting this year. Beach time was also a little limited due to 50 degree temps a few days.
Ahh, Michigan, I love it!

At the Soo Locks. Compare him at 3 and back in 2007 when he was one! I can't believe he actually fit inside the turbine back then!
Not all who wander are lost....

This began as an attempt to get warm. The water was a tad chilly.

The camper potty was a hit.

No, not a campground, it's the Elkins family reunion at Aunt Pat and Uncle Duane's

You look like Sacagawea. They should put you on the money. That potty as well looked quite comfy.

Looks like fun. Did you go to the locks on Engineer's Day?
