Photo Shoot
Since June marked 3 years and 3 months, it was time again for a photo shoot with Charlie. I'd like to take a minute and rave about Charlie. He's a hobby photographer and we are more than willing to be his test subjects as he hones his craft. He's super patient, open for experimentation and we always end up with some great shots. This is good since little ones are tough subjects, out of 70 shots we might get 5 keepers sometimes. We're thankful to have had Charlie take the kids' pictures since day one. And the fact that he's family helps too! Thanks Charlie! Enjoy the pictures everyone!

Toddler Wit Part 2

Tuesday night, we go for ice cream. Z of course gets Superman. Two days later, "Mama! I poop Superman!" I admit, I was impressed that all three colors were still visible...
Yesterday, trying for a nap, I told him that if he slept, his superpowers would be recharged. ( I was desperate). "I have pooper powers?"
He thought about it for awhile - "Pooper powers like Superman? I poop Superman!" There's a circle of life lesson in there somewhere I bet...
Today, looking at a collage of pictures on the wall, he saw a picture of me at about 7 months old being held by my grandpa. "Oh no, that monster is holding a baby!" If you didn't know my Grandpa Steele, he was a big, bald man with no teeth and big Marine Corps tattoos on his arms. He was far from a monster but looked gruff. When I explained that the baby was me and that the monster was my papa, papa's daddy, he just stared at me and said "No mama! That's M!"
And what did he want for dinner tonight? "Scoopagetti and baseballs"

Good Things Come in 3's
Where did 3 years (Z) and 3 months (M) go???? Last week marked a 3 year and 3 month birthday for my little stinkers. Two weeks ago at graduation, with all the references to growing up and saying farewell to youth, I couldn't help but think that that day is sneaking up on me faster than I'd like, he's already three... a bit overdramatic but moms know what I'm talking about. Turn around and they're grown up.
M this month has mastered rolling over both ways and standing up on your lap. She's so close to laughing that it kills me and makes me look stupid trying to get her to laugh. She remains ever calm and laid back, very opposite of her busy busy busy brother. Hmmm, which one will give us more fits as a teenager???
