Ruby Anniversary

Apparently the 40th Anniversary is called the Ruby Anniversary. Who knew? Although no ruby jewelry was exchanged, it gave me a theme to decorate with. Last weekend, Mark, myself, Missy, Mark, Matt and Deb pulled off a surprise anniversary party for Max and Peggy. We felt they earned it after all they've been through in the past 2 years. It went well, turns out we were all pretty resourceful when it came to planning a party. Over 70 people attended despite illness. Z and M stayed home sick and were pretty upset about it. Mark B catered, S, E and C helped me decorate and Matt and Deb managed to trick them into "going out to dinner."
The old crowd has lost some of their spunk since 1969, we were cleaned up and done by 8 pm! But a good time was had by all. Here's to the bride and groom!

The blushing bride and groom cutting the cake.

Thanks to Aunt Kay for her spur of the moment tunnel and making up the song "For They're a Jolly Good Couple."

The looks on their faces were priceless! Too bad I couldn't get Max's face better.

7 Months Old

What a stinker. That's all I can say. At 7 months, M is already crawling, playing patty cake on command and pulling herself up to a standing position. It dawned on me the other day that we never had a time with her where she was sitting up but not moving. She actually sat up after she started crawling. Needless to say, we're not quite as babyproofed as we should be. She's still tiny at a whopping 14 pounds but her smile is as big as can be.
